The Tigard dojo was named the Takushinkan dojo, meaning “Frontier dojo”, by Tohei sensei, whose calligraphy adorns this sign.

    Saturday March 13th at the Tigard dojo

    The children's competition will be in the morning, with the adults in the afternoon. Viewing is open to the public.

April, 2010

  • Easter weekend

    Sunday April 4th at all dojos

    No classes because of the holiday.

  • Aikido instructors' workshop

    Sunday April 11th, 1:00 - 4:00, at the Tigard dojo

    The workshop will focus on teaching skills for aikido instructors, with feedback from Tabata sensei.

  • Randori class

    Sunday April 11th, 9:30, at the Tigard dojo

    The usual advanced aikido class will cover randori. All students brown belt and up are encouraged to attend.

  • Spring camp

    Saturday April 24th – Sunday April 25th, 9:00 am on Saturday, 7:30 am on Sunday, at the Tigard dojo

    One of two annual opportunities to train Aikido intensively, Spring camp is open to all current students.

May, 2010

  • Mother's day

    Sunday May 9th at all dojos

    No classes because of the holiday.

  • Memorial day weekend

    Sunday May 30th – Monday May 31st at all dojos

    No classes because of the holiday.

June, 2010

  • Kids' camp

    Saturday June 12th – Sunday June 13th at the Tigard dojo

    The annual kids' camp is this weekend, featuring lots of training and activities for members of the children's program.

July, 2010

  • Fourth of July weekend

    Saturday July 3rd – Sunday July 4th at all dojos

    No classes because of the holiday.

September, 2010

  • Labor day weekend

    Sunday September 5th – Monday September 6th at all dojos

    No classes because of the holiday.

October, 2010

  • Randori class

    Sunday October 3rd, 9:30, at the Tigard dojo

    The usual advanced aikido class will cover randori. All students brown belt and up are encouraged to attend.

  • World Camp

    Wednesday October 20th – Saturday October 23rd at all dojos

    The annual Ki Society world camp is being held at Ki no Sato in Japan.

  • Aikido instructors' workshop

    Saturday October 30th – Sunday October 31st at the Tigard dojo

    The workshop will focus on teaching skills for aikido instructors currently teaching a class, with feedback from Tabata sensei. All brown belts and instructors are requested to attend Sunday afternoon.

November, 2010

  • Fall camp

    Saturday November 20th, 9:00 am on Saturday, 7:30 am on Sunday, at the Tigard dojo

  • Management conference

    Sunday December 5th, 9:00 am, at the Tigard dojo

    All instructors are invited to attend the annual management conference.

  • Last day of classes

    Monday December 20th, until the new year, at all dojos

    No classes will be held over the holiday break.

January, 2011

  • Classes resume

    Monday January 3rd at all dojos

    With the new year comes new training.

  • Misogi

    Sunday January 9th, arrive by 8:30 am, misogi starts at 9:00 am, at the Tigard dojo

    Our annual opportunity to ring in the new year. Open to all current students. Annual new year's party to follow at 11:30.
